About OpenPost

OpenPost is a Zimbabwean publishing platform for independent voices. It is a place where writers, journalists and community members publish news, stories, opinions and ideas, and where readers can respond, ask questions and support the writers they value.

What we do

We publish stories that matter to people in Zimbabwe and beyond: local news, technology, music and culture, business, community events, practical information, profiles and opinion. Our aim is to make it easy for anyone with something worth saying to be published, to be read and to be heard.

What we stand for

• Accuracy. Every story is reviewed by an editor before it is published, and we correct mistakes openly.
• Fairness. We expect writers to hear from the people a story is about and to present more than one side.
• Respect. We treat the people we write about, and our readers, with dignity.
• Openness. Anyone can read, comment and apply to write.
• Transparency. We label opinion as opinion, and sponsored content as sponsored.

Who writes here

Articles are written by the OpenPost team and by independent authors. Authors write in their own name and capacity, so their views are their own and do not necessarily reflect those of OpenPost. Every author has a profile page showing who they are and what they cover. Comments are written by readers and are covered by our Community Guidelines.

Write for us

Do you have stories, expertise or a point of view people should hear? Apply to become an author. Tell us a little about yourself and what you would like to write about. Once you are approved and your author membership is active, you can write and submit stories from your own dashboard. Our editors review every story before it goes live, and may edit for length, clarity and accuracy. We will talk to you first about any major change.

Support the writers

If you value an author’s work, use the Support button on their stories or profile page. Payments go directly to the author through Peacro Pay; OpenPost does not take a share. You can also support OpenPost itself with the Support us button at the top of every page.

Corrections

We sometimes make mistakes. If you think a story has something wrong, please email hello@openpost.co.zw with a link to the article. We will look into it promptly and fix errors, adding a note to the article where the change matters.

Independence

OpenPost is built and run by Peacro Technologies Africa (Pvt) Ltd in Nyanga, Zimbabwe. Advertisers, sponsors and supporters do not decide what we publish. When we write about Peacro’s own products, such as PlayIt or Peacro Pay, we say so clearly in the story.

Two things to check before you save:

• “OpenPost does not take a share”: keep this only if it’s true. Your current setup sends reader support straight to the author, so it is.
• The “Independence” section: it names Peacro as the owner. If you’d rather not say that publicly, delete the second sentence. But keep the line about labelling stories on Peacro’s own products, because several of your current articles are about them.
