About
Rhodes Nyanga Hotel sits in the heart of Nyanga National Park, with a verandah that looks out over Rhodes Dam and the mountains beyond. The original homestead on Fruitfield Farm was bought by Cecil Rhodes in 1896 as a retreat and became a hotel in 1933.
Rooms: 24 in all. The eight rooms in the original block have baths and showers; the rondavels have showers. Room 8 is the favourite, with a freestanding Victorian bath, a walk-in shower and original furniture.
Dining: home-style meals in a dining room with a log fire. Trout, beef and sherry trifle are regulars on the menu. There’s also a bar and lounge.
Also here: gardens, conference and function rooms, and weddings. The park’s trout waters and the Nyangombe Falls and swimming pool are minutes away.
