How OpenPost Supports Creators: One Home for Your Music, Your Work and Your Fans

3 min read

OpenPost now gives Zimbabwean creators a professional page, a portfolio of their work and a direct line to fans. It works alongside PlayIt for music, PeaChat on WhatsApp and PaySpot for payments, so creators can be found, heard and paid.

Zimbabwe is full of talent. In every town there are musicians recording in small studios, painters selling from roadsides, photographers capturing weddings and landscapes, poets, designers and crafters. Yet most of them face the same problem: great work, but nowhere to show it and no easy way to earn from it.

Social media helps a little, but posts disappear in hours, algorithms decide who sees what, and data costs keep many fans offline. Streaming platforms rarely reach rural audiences, and getting paid for your work can feel impossible.

At Peacro Technologies Africa, we believe creators deserve better. That is why we’ve built OpenPost to work hand in hand with three other Peacro platforms, PlayIt, PeaChat and PaySpot, to give local creators a complete path from being found, to being heard, to being paid.

1. OpenPost: Your Professional Home Online

Every creator can open a Creator Space on OpenPost (openpost.co.zw): their own page, on a trusted .co.zw platform, with no website to build.

A Creator Space includes:

  • Your profile: photo, cover, story and location, so fans and bookers know who you are and where you’re based
  • One-tap contact: WhatsApp, Call and Website buttons
  • The new Work tab: a portfolio of your songs, albums, artwork, photos, designs, books, crafts and performances, each with an image, a description and an optional price
  • Stories, Videos and Shows: share news, behind-the-scenes posts, music videos and video podcasts
  • Events and Notices: announce your shows, launches and exhibitions
  • A Verified tick, so fans know it’s really you

Every piece in your Work tab can have an “Enquire on WhatsApp” button. A fan who loves your painting or wants to book you taps it, and a chat opens with you, already asking about that exact piece. No forms, no middleman.

2. PlayIt: Music That Reaches Fans, Even Without Internet

PlayIt is Peacro’s music platform built for how Zimbabweans actually listen. Many fans can’t afford data for big streaming apps, so PlayIt lets them reach local music through WhatsApp.

On OpenPost, a musician’s Work tab links each song or album straight to PlayIt with a “Listen on PlayIt” button. Their PlayIt artist profile, such as playit.co.zw/a/robert-chagora, in turn points fans to their OpenPost page for news, videos and events.

The benefit: one place to tell your story (OpenPost), one place for fans to play your music (PlayIt), each sending fans to the other.

3. PeaChat: Your Music, One WhatsApp Message Away

PeaChat is the WhatsApp bot that powers PlayIt. Every artist has a simple code. A fan sends a message like “music A1012” to PeaChat on WhatsApp, and the artist’s music is right there in the chat they already use every day.

Creators can share their PeaChat link anywhere: on their OpenPost page, on posters, in WhatsApp statuses and on the radio. It’s the easiest way for a fan in Nyanga, Mutare or the diaspora to start listening in seconds.

4. PaySpot: Getting Paid, Directly

Exposure is good, but creators need to earn. PaySpot (formerly Peacro Pay) is Peacro’s payment platform, and it connects to OpenPost through the Support button.

When a creator adds their PaySpot link to their OpenPost page, fans can support them directly: a tip for a song they love, a contribution towards a new album or a payment for a piece of work. The money goes straight to the creator. OpenPost doesn’t take a cut of support payments.

How It All Works Together

Picture a gospel artist from Sakubva:

  1. OpenPost: fans discover them through a story, a video or the Work tab on their Creator Space.
  2. PlayIt: the “Listen on PlayIt” button takes fans to their full catalogue.
  3. PeaChat: fans without data keep listening on WhatsApp with a simple code.
  4. PaySpot: fans who love the music tap Support and pay the artist directly.
  5. WhatsApp enquiries: event organisers and churches tap “Enquire on WhatsApp” to book a performance.

Each platform does one job well, and together they turn talent into a living.

What’s Coming Next

We’re just getting started. Here’s what we’re working towards:

  • Artist of the Week features across OpenPost and PlayIt
  • Creator rows on the OpenPost home page and Watch section
  • Follow buttons, so fans get alerts when their favourite creator posts something new
  • Stats showing creators how many people view, listen to and enquire about their work
  • Event listings and ticket sales for shows and launches
  • Closer links between OpenPost, PlayIt and PaySpot, so creators manage everything with less effort
