The Nyangombe River tumbles over a long run of granite steps before slowing into pools below. It is one of the easiest waterfalls to reach in Nyanga National Park: a 300-metre walk from the car park takes you to the viewpoint.
Downstream, near Rhodes Nyanga Hotel, the same river feeds the Nyangombe natural swimming pool and its sandy “Brighton Beach”. That spot has braai stands, changing rooms and toilets, and the National Parks campsite is close by.
Take care on the rocks near the water. They are slippery, especially after rain.
